Wanda Sykes' politics nightmare or public relief?

I have just recently watched the clip of Wanda Sykes's material that she preformed at the White House political dinner. (or what ever it was I really don't care) I watched it about 3 times and I thought that She did not go too far with the jokes. From my stand point her material was what the public needed. People today are afraid of what they say and I will admit it that I am one of them. The whole politically correctness of the media today is unbearable and undesirable in the public eye.
"The New York Times" from what I have noticed has had it's sails drop due to the fact that no-one wants to pick up a piece of dry news that has no depth or relation to their lives. If i want to be entertained I'm not going to pick up a stereo instruction manual and hope that I can get something out of it. My advice to them is to start to break away from the fear and write in the context that is necessary.
Great comedians like Robin Williams and Mell Brooks did not leave anything untouched and didn't leave anything sacred they did not only make fun of politics or celebrities or any particular group of religion, but they also made fun of themselves. Not in a light manner but in tha same manner if not worse.
People need to realize that no matter what they say someone will be offended and some one will criticise them no matter what they try to do. So I ask you "Is it worth it to give up your right to freedom of speech to make yourself look the same and fit in with the circle of people that you think could be your friends?"
I personally believe that this is the wake up call for America to not let political views to silent our thoughts.

Personally I thought she was funny but that she went a little bit overboard with some of her jokes, I felt embarrassed for her. The joke about Limbaugh being the 20th terrorist i thought it was hilarious and needed to be said but at the same time the timing was off. Nothing was wrong with her act but there is a time and place for everything, it may have been the time for a little relief but most definitely not the place.

Wanda Sykes was funny and I'm with you, she didn't go overboard.

She couldn't have been that bad, especially considering that FOX gave her a spot on their fall lineup for a late night talk show.
